Aluminum Fabrication
What is Aluminum Fabrication?
Metal fabrication is the process of manufacturing and shaping metal into parts. There are a variety of techniques used to cut, fold, and shape the metal to produce products and tools. Where some metal fabricators mass-produce products, ERD Metal creates large runs of custom aluminum fabrications for our clients. We both design and fabricate these metals according to your specific needs and requirements.
The Process of Aluminum Fabrication
The process of manufacturing custom aluminum fabrications involves cutting, burning, welding, machining, forming and assembling. Whether you need simple railings or heavy equipment, our fabrication plant can fulfill your fabrication requests. Specific subsectors of fabrication include cutlery and hand tools, architectural and structural metals, hardware, springs and wires, screws, nuts, bolts, forging, and stamping.
The process of custom fabrication includes:
Design
We use advanced CAD/CAM software to design and develop 3D prototypes of an object before starting with the process. We do this to ensure the final product will both function the way it should and ensure no time or money is wasted on unnecessary modifications.
Fabrication
We start the process of cutting the shapes for each component. We use CNC (computer numerical control) tools to ensure each piece is cut exactly to size and according to the specifications stated in the design prototypes.
Assembly and Finalization
We assemble all the individual parts according to the final design. This ensures the finished product is ready for its intended use. We use finishing techniques, such as deburring, to ensure the materials function at optimal levels with no excess material. For final quality control and enhancement, we powder coat the product to ensure it looks as good as it works.
